The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University.

This Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The PMP will allow them to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. They will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with them on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow them to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations.

Master of Arts - Contemporary Literature and Culture: The Master of Arts - Contemporary Literature and Culture is an innovative programme that provides an understanding and appreciation of literature and culture in the contemporary period. The course provides students with the opportunity to study a range of cultural forms, including literature, digital media, drama, film, and television, in order to analyse what we understand by the contemporary and its culture. The programme furnishes knowledge and skillsets that are put to practical use in an innovative core module that sees them collectively contribute to the dissemination of contemporary literature by planning and holding a literary festival in the summer term.
