The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University.

This Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The PMP will allow them to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. They will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with them on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow them to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations.

Master of Science - Ergonomics and Human Factors: The Master of Science - Ergonomics and Human Factors will develop students' understanding of the field across a range of sectors, examining how best to ensure a good fit between people, their actions, the objects they use and the environments which they occupy. They will apply theoretical principles, data and methods to ensure that design is optimized for human well-being and overall system performance. They will also have the option to select one of the following specialist streams: human factors for inclusive design, human factors in transport, human factors and ergonomics for patient safety, or ergonomics in health and community care. Past students have joined from a wide range of academic disciplines and backgrounds, including industrial design, health sciences, human physiology, kinesiology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology and branches of engineering.
