The Fashion Design program arms students with the necessary principles and techniques of fashion and encourages students to apply their artistic vision to the design of commercial fashions, apparel, and accessories, as well as the management of fashion development projects.

The Fashion Design concentration is a natural outgrowth of GCC’s long standing Fashion Business program. The reputation and connections the program has established throughout the industry will help students pursue their ‘passion for fashion,’ while carefully sculpting and directing their creative energy. With a Fashion Design degree from GCC, students will be on their unique pathway toward a successful career.

The Fashion Design Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree allows students to enter the world of fashion design and retail in entry- or mid-level positions. Earning an AAS degree also enables them to transfer to many four-year institutions. Students' innate design skills and creativity will be enhanced by learning the basic principles of fashion, color, textiles and merchandise management, along with communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students will also learn to recognize and apply ethical standards and cultural opportunities within the industry.
