Cultural life at University of Leeds

The University of Leeds is a truly international university, welcoming 31,000 students from 145 countries around the world.


Whether you're looking to compete at the highest varsity level, try something new or just meet like-minded people, the Leeds University Union has something for everyone. You’ll be able to choose from over 280 clubs and societies, in areas of interest as diverse as football, sky-diving, chess, swimming, baking and Harry Potter.


On campus there are three sporting venues, including The Edge, a £12.2m state-of-the-art swimming pool and fitness centre. There are also shops, bars, cafés and state of the art venues hosting live music, club nights and one-off events.

At the Leeds International Study Centre, students can choose from a range of modern and comfortable accommodation, located close to the city centre and just a short walk away from the Centre.


Leeds Beckett University provides student flats for Leeds International Study Centre students. These facilities house three to six students, with shared kitchen and living facilities in each flat. Location and Infrastructure

The University of Leeds is located on a single campus, in one of the UK's most popular student cities, close to the International Study Centre and all this multicultural city has to offer.


Leeds is the third largest city in the UK, located in the north of England. It is compact and safe, so it’s easy to get around on foot. The International Study Centre is located in the city centre, opposite the train station.


Leeds is the largest centre for banking and legal services outside of London. The city attracts global companies, people and entrepreneurs.


There is something for everyone to see and do in Leeds, from great shopping, bars and restaurants to lively music festivals, opera and theatre shows.


The city also has excellent transport links to York, Manchester, Liverpool and London.
