Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Human Genetics with Foundation Year (C421)

The BSc (Hons) Human Genetics at the University of West London provides students with a comprehensive grounding in a subject that is central to health, medicine and pharmacology.

Recent advances in biology have improved understanding of how genetic variations affect genome function and influence traits, leading to increased job opportunities for graduates with skills in human genetics.

The course introduces students to molecular biology and explores key fundamentals, including evolution and its impact on genetic differences, medical microbiology, biochemistry and the genetics of diseases.

Throughout the course, students will acquire the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to excel in research, industry and academia.

The BSc (Hons) Human Genetics at the University of West London is accredited on an interim basis by the Royal Society of Biology.

The course also offers a foundation year. The foundation year is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to continue on to their honours degree. Students will study a range of subjects that underpin future learning and gain valuable experience of university life, with full access to campus facilities. Successful completion allows students to progress straight on to Level 4 of the course.
