Master of Science - Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (Advanced Practice) (24-month)

It also explores the ethical and social implications of AI while developing a strong portfolio of practical and professional skills.

Students gain the ability to apply advanced knowledge of AI foundations and computer science concepts; design and implement machine learning models to generate insights from complex data; utilise industry-standard tools for solution design and deployment; analyse and transform datasets to support informed decision-making; apply agile development methodologies to manage projects effectively; and understand the professional, ethical, and legal responsibilities associated with AI practice.

A substantial master’s project allows students to apply their learning to a real-world or research-led problem, demonstrating their ability to tackle complex challenges within an academic or industrial context.

The Advanced Practice route enhances the qualification by incorporating either a vocational or research-based internship. A vocational internship provides valuable industry experience and supports career progression, while a research internship enables students to develop analytical, teamwork, academic, and research skills through collaboration with an active research team. A research internship is guaranteed; however, vocational internships cannot be guaranteed. Students pursuing the vocational route are supported with practical guidance to help them identify, apply for, and secure suitable opportunities.
