The Civil Engineering Technology program is designed to train students in the design of highway, transportation, and municipal systems. The first year of training covers engineering technology basics such as engineering science, materials technology, surveying, and drafting. Many courses are common with other technology programs and may be used for credit transfer. In the second year, students focus on subjects that relate to highway and municipal systems, including highway engineering, water, and sanitary systems, fluid mechanics, and environmental planning. Students will learn and apply the knowledge and skills throughout the program in a real, practical, and simulated environment through lectures, extensive hands-on activities, and individual or team projects.
