2-Semester Pathway - Pre-Master's Programme - Continue to Master of Science - International Management

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University.

This Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The PMP will allow them to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. They will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with them on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow them to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations.

Master of Science - International Management: The Master of Science - International Management programme will give students an in-depth understanding of the different national, institutional and cultural contexts in which firms operate, whilst developing essential analytical skills to prepare them for a career in the global economy. Representing a joint programme delivered by the Institute for International Management and the School of Business and Economics, this programme offers a fascinating insight into global business perspectives. They will gain an in depth understanding of the different national and cultural contexts in which firms operate, whilst developing and enhancing their analytical and research skills. On this programme they will also gain a broad, analytical and integrative understanding of diverse national contexts and their effect on economic activity around the world. Studying how emerging markets contexts influence the strategies of firms operating in these countries and will discover how to apply this knowledge to real life examples.
