Bachelor of Science - Accounting

The BSc in Accounting provides students with a solid, practical foundation and relevant technical and intellectual competence in accounting and related areas of financial expertise. Students develop the skills, expertise and analytical competence necessary for careers as accountants in the accountancy profession, industry or the public sector.

Students also develop quantitative, communication and information technology skills, and learn how to apply these within an accounting context. The course explores how accountants work with managers, shareholders and a wide range of other stakeholders across different organisations to support informed decision-making.

The accounting degrees offer opportunities to gain exemptions from professional bodies such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW and ICAS, depending on satisfactory completion of specific modules.

The first year of the degree is shared with the Accounting and Finance BSc and Finance BSc, allowing students the option to switch to either course at the end of their first year.
