Students will begin the program by creating a strong foundation in the fundamentals of personal support. They will learn about health and wellness, the human body and how it functions, along with examining mental health issues and life transition theories.

In addition to classroom instruction, students will also complete placements in long-term care facilities as well as a community placement, where they will get valuable experience providing care to clients. This means that students will begin their career with a highly developed set of experiences to draw on as they enter the workforce. This program also utilizes simulation learning.
