2-Semester Pathway - Pre-Master's Programme - Continue to Master of Science - Finance and Management

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University.

This Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The PMP will allow them to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. They will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with them on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow them to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations.

Master of Science - Finance and Management: The Master of Science - Finance and Management is accredited by the CIMA and designed to fast-track the careers of graduates from non-finance backgrounds who want to pursue a career in financial management. Successful modern organisations depend upon effective decision makers who are equipped with core skills in business, finance and management. Underpinned by the latest research and commercial best practice, this course will prepare students for the ever-changing nature of today's business environment. They will develop an understanding of business and management by studying across a range of areas, including marketing, human resources (HR), accounting, strategic management and, in particular, finance. Their financial knowledge and skills will be further developed within accounting and finance modules.
