Sheridan College - Hazel McCallion - Mississauga
Это описание есть только на английском языке.
In just one year, students can develop the skills they need to begin a satisfying career helping in a long-term care facility, supportive housing, home care, adult daycare and palliative care. A full 100% of graduates find employment, and employers are 100% satisfied with the personal support workers they hire from Sheridan College.
Things students will learn to do: • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including meal prep, feeding and personal care. • Understand and empathize with clients and their challenging situations. • Lift and transfer clients. • Increase clients' comfort, safety and mobility. • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and report accurately.
Hands-on experience: Training will include 350 hours (14 full weeks) in two practicum settings, including a long-term care facility and the student's choice of community setting. Sheridan College arranges each student's placements for them, and a faculty member supervises their Long Term Care placement. Field experiences often lead directly to employment after graduation.
