2-Semester Pathway - Pre-Master's Programme - Continue to Master of Science - Sport Management, Politics and International Development

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University.

This Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The PMP will allow them to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. They will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with them on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow them to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations.

Master of Science - Sport Management, Politics and International Development: The Master of Science - Sport Management, Politics and International Development will provide students with a strong critical understanding of sport management, sport politics and policy, and sport development in an international context. The programme is taught by the diverse team of staff who are recognised globally for their research and teaching in these areas. The academic staff are committed to equipping them with the knowledge and skills to work in the global sport industries and in wider sport-related fields of employment. The programme draws on strong ties across the sport sector and with sport-related organisations in business, government, and non-profit fields.
