2-Term Undergraduate Foundation Program - Humanities and Social Sciences - Continue to - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Media and Television Production

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Humanities and Social Sciences is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.

This course will give the excellent opportunities to develop the students production skill set and enhance their career prospects. In our Media Factory, the students will learn production processes and techniques using industry standard facilities. The students will also stay updated on industry practices and technical standards.

The students will have multiple opportunities to be creative and produce a body of work that will showcase the breadth of their diverse craft skills. The students will work on real-world briefs and collaborative projects and develop the skills needed to launch their career in media and television production. Caring and enthusiastic lecturers will support them throughout.
