2-Semester Pathway - Pre-Master's Programme - Continue to Master of Science - International Management and Emerging Economies

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University.

This Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The PMP will allow them to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. They will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with them on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow them to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations.

Master of Science - International Management and Emerging Economies: The Master of Science - International Management and Emerging Economies programme will provide students with a comprehensive and integrated understanding of the particular challenges facing firms in emerging economies that are becoming increasingly integrated into the global economy. Specific issues include the process of economic reform, the pressures of globalisation and the opportunities for internationalization at firm-level. The Institute for International Management maintains a research interest in the comparative analysis of countries’ institutional set-ups and how diverse national contexts affect economic activity around the world. This research is fed into the teaching of this programme to ensure them graduate with an understanding of the latest opportunities and pressures facing organisations in emerging economies.
