Program Description This program is designed to provide a tertiary level foundation for further study in the Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology, Bachelor of Information Systems, and Bachelor of Computer Science degrees. It has been developed to provide students with a base understanding of core information and communications technology theory and concepts. Students then transition to the second year of a Bachelor of Information Systems degree. Today, practising professionals need to not only have knowledge and skills in computing, they also need to understand the context in which computer technology is applied in society, and be able to work collaboratively with people in all sorts of professions and industries. The Bachelor of Information Systems degree integrates closely the applications of computing and information systems in a global business environment. Students will work with organisations to design, develop, deploy and manage information systems through the application of computing technology. This program will help students carry out a real-life project where they will need to design and develop an information system that solves a community-based problem.
