Master of Science - Computer Science

The MSc Computer Science programme is a conversion course designed to provide students with a broad and balanced introduction to the field. It aims to prepare graduates for technical roles within the IT industry by developing the key knowledge and skills required for employment.

The course offers practical experience with contemporary models, techniques, and tools that underpin innovation in software-based systems. Core areas of study include software development using industry-relevant programming languages, software analysis and design for complex systems, database design and development, full-stack web application development, and the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

In addition, students develop essential academic and professional skills such as research methods, academic writing, and project management. These are further applied and consolidated through the completion of an independent dissertation.

As a conversion programme, the course is designed for students with little or no prior experience in computer science. It provides structured support to facilitate a smooth transition into the discipline and to build confidence in both technical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
