2-Term Undergraduate Foundation Program - Life Sciences - Continue to - Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Neuroscience

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Life Science program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.

The students can explore the most complex organ in the body - the nervous system and learn how the brain and nervous system work to alter behaviour, perception, mood and memory from a cognitive and physiological psychology perspective. Neuroscience is literally the ‘science of the brain.’ Studying such a complex organ – along with the nervous system it controls – requires the insights students can only gain from a multidisciplinary approach.
