Master of Science - Artificial Intelligence (Professional Placement)

This MSc Applied Artificial Intelligence programme is designed to provide students with a strong understanding of both the theory and practice of AI systems through a choice of specialised pathways, including core AI and Fintech, aligned with industry demands.

As a conversion course, it is intended for students without prior experience in computer programming or advanced mathematics and statistics. The programme begins by establishing foundational knowledge in programming and mathematics, which is then developed into more advanced AI-related skills.

Students progress from learning basic Python programming and algebra to exploring complex areas such as computer vision and other applied AI domains. Key areas of study include image analysis, where machine learning techniques are used to interpret images and video across applications such as security, autonomous vehicles, and retail; natural language processing, which focuses on enabling machines to understand and generate human language for applications such as chatbots and automated communication; and time series analysis, which involves working with dynamic data to support predictions in fields such as finance, healthcare, and defence.
