This in-depth, technical, and practical course is designed for students who have studied engineering at the university level and are looking to advance their skills. For those who do not wish to pursue the full MSc, there is the option to apply for a PGDip, where students study only four modules, or a PGCert, where they study only two modules. The course offers extensive hands-on experience, with practical work incorporated into every module. Instead of completing a thesis, students will work on a team project designed to resemble a real-life industry scenario. Students will have access to technology, software, studios, laboratories, and workshops that are well-equipped with specialist and industry-standard software. Additionally, there is an opportunity to work towards a Prince2 Certification as part of their studies. In addition to gaining an in-depth understanding of the subject, students will become familiar with software such as WITNESS, Simul8, MATLAB, and Simulink. They will learn to use modeling and simulation techniques in engineering and conduct case studies to validate models against real-life methods. Furthermore, students will gain knowledge of management theory, systems theory, and the global, social, ethical, and environmental context of engineering.
