University Pathways Fast Track at RMIT UP is an accelerated pathway designed for high-achieving international students, preparing them for university in half the time of a Foundation Studies course. Delivered over one semester by RMIT UP (CRICOS provider number: 01912G), a fully owned entity of RMIT University, the program equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future academic success.
Located in the heart of Melbourne, RMIT UP’s specialist staff support students throughout their journey, while providing opportunities to build global and social networks that contribute to success at RMIT and beyond.
To ensure students get the best start to their studies, RMIT offers careers counselling, as well as academic and welfare support services that can be accessed flexibly.
University Pathways Fast Track features focused, discipline-based streams, allowing students to align their studies with their interests and goals. Available streams include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Art, Design and Architecture, Business, and Communication and Social Context.

Bachelor of Food Technology and Nutrition (BP199P23) (110979C) The RMIT Bachelor of Food Technology and Nutrition provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of food science, technology, and nutrition science. The program is designed to build foundational knowledge in the science of manufacturing food, ensuring it is both safe and nutritious.
Students learn how to develop novel, healthy, and functional food products that meet consumer demands while complying with strict safety and health guidelines. As part of the program, they have the opportunity to major in food technology, nutrition, or both.
The nutrition major focuses on human health and nutrition, while the food technology major explores traditional and emerging technologies used in food manufacturing, along with sensory evaluation, product development, and quality assurance.
Throughout the degree, students study in world-class laboratories and facilities, spending significant time in practical settings, including RMIT’s Food Innovation and Research Centre, where they undertake food production trials and development projects.
The program culminates in capstone experiences that include work-integrated learning activities, enabling students to apply their knowledge in real or simulated workplace contexts and prepare for careers in the food industry.
