Double Degree - Bachelor of Arts - Kinesiology & Bachelor of Business Administration - General Management (Optional Co-op)

With a combined Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Management (B.A./B.Mgt.) degree, the student can explore a multitude of interests and careers. For example, if the student is interested in managing an art gallery, they can major in art and general management. If sports marketing ignites their passion, they can major in kinesiology and marketing. The Combined B.A./B.Mgt. degree program takes five years (50 courses) to complete and leads to the conferral of two degrees. Bachelor of Management - General Management

Management is leading others to accomplish common goals in business. Today’s managers are people oriented, creative, adaptable and strong communicators. They have to know how to deal effectively with rapidly changing environments, work successfully with small and large teams, live and work by principles of ethics and social responsibility and be aware of responsibilities to sustainability. General management students study topics such as marketing, organizational behaviour, introductory accounting, managing responsibly in a global environment, human resources management, policy and strategy and probability and statistics. They draw from fields such as history, English, political science, economics and sociology.

Bachelor of Arts - Kinesiology

Kinesiology is the study of human movement through physical activity and the critical role it plays from both an individual and cultural perspective. It also helps professionals understand the mechanics of human motion.

The programs are designed to provide students with the opportunity to study the theoretical and practical applications of activity as a cultural form, as well as individual performance at all levels of involvement and all ages.

Students will also gain an understanding of movement through the integration of specialized knowledge found in topics like anatomy, biomechanics, culture, exercise physiology, leadership, media, motor control, race and ethnicity.

Students will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories, as well as the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness, with its indoor track, pool and climbing wall.

BA vs. BSc Students completing the Bachelor of Arts program explore sport and physical activity involvement from a socio-cultural, wellness and participatory perspective, while students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program study these concepts from a human performance perspective.
