Double Degree - Bachelor of Arts - Kinesiology & Bachelor of Business Administration - Marketing (Optional Co-op)

With a combined Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Management (B.A./B.Mgt.) degree, the students can explore a multitude of interests and careers. For example, if they are interested in managing an art gallery, they can major in art and general management. If sports marketing ignites their passion, candidates can major in kinesiology and marketing. The Combined B.A./B.Mgt. degree program takes five years (50 courses) to complete and leads to the conferral of two degrees. Bachelor of Management - Marketing

Marketing, a combination of art and science, is the core of any business. It helps identify consumer needs; guides the development of new products, services or communications strategies ensuring products and services are available where and when consumers want them; determines prices; and has the ability to adjust all of these for domestic and international markets. Almost one-third of North Americans are employed in marketing or marketing-related positions.

Marketers are the crucial link between an organization, their suppliers and their end-users, building relationships that benefit all parties. Marketers must have a strong understanding of the customer, whether an individual or an organization so they can effectively advise on all aspects of marketing.

Students learn to balance project experience with the latest theoretical concepts and study courses like consumer behaviour, advertising and promotions, managing responsibly in a global environment, economics, sports marketing, communications and social media, cross-cultural marketing, and statistics. They draw from fields such as history, English, political science, economics and sociology.

Bachelor of Arts - Kinesiology

Kinesiology is the study of human movement through physical activity and the critical role it plays from both an individual and cultural perspective. It also helps professionals understand the mechanics of human motion.

The programs are designed to provide students with the opportunity to study the theoretical and practical applications of activity as a cultural form, as well as individual performance at all levels of involvement and all ages.

Graduates will also gain an understanding of movement through the integration of specialized knowledge found in topics like anatomy, biomechanics, culture, exercise physiology, leadership, media, motor control, race and ethnicity. They will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories, as well as the 1st Choice Savings Centre for Sport and Wellness, with its indoor track, pool and climbing wall.

BA vs. BSc Students completing the Bachelor of Arts program explore sport and physical activity involvement from a socio-cultural, wellness and participatory perspective, while students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program study these concepts from a human performance perspective.
