Masters of Science - Management with Business Analytics (Placement Year)

This conversion course is delivered by the Business School, which has AACSB accreditation in recognition of Bournemouth University's focus on excellence in all areas. There is a growing demand for managers who are able to analyse and interpret data to make informed decisions that will improve the performance of their business – identifying organisational problems and emerging market trends quickly and reacting to them to maximise profits and efficiency. This course will help students become exactly the kind of graduate that these organisations are looking for.

Graduates understanding of analytics will be complemented by developing broader management skills in areas such as human resources, marketing, strategy, accounting, financial management and leadership skills – all within a global context.

When they graduate, students will be perfectly placed to identify the management needs to understand and improve the business and translate them into practical action. Their strong background in management combined with knowledge about business analytics and big data analysis will enable students to improve managerial decision using the latest advancements in business analytics. Students will understand the technical possibilities and constraints of big data analysis that lie in wait for them. They'll be able to design useful performance metrics, using recent developments in statistics and business analytics, and interpret their findings to manage and grow successful businesses.

Although this is a conversion course, it is best suited to those with an analytical mind. There’s also a 30-week work placement as part of the course, which may particularly appeal if students are changing disciplines or career focus.
