Integrated Foundation - Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Civil Engineering

The BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering with Foundation Year is designed to provide a strong starting point for a career in civil engineering, aligning with the requirements of relevant professional bodies. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on learning, supported by industry links and access to modern tools such as advanced CAD software.

Delivered over four years, the programme includes a Foundation Year that provides a broad introduction to key concepts, enabling students to develop the knowledge and skills required to progress onto the full degree. Progression is dependent on successfully passing all Foundation Year modules.

Throughout the course, students develop essential transferable skills including problem-solving, project planning, communication, and presentation. Learning is applied through real-world, problem-based scenarios, helping to build both intellectual and practical competencies. The programme covers core areas of civil engineering, including hydraulics and the behaviour of water in engineering systems, preparing students to contribute to major infrastructure projects such as bridges, motorways, and power stations.
