Graduates from the Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Business (Economics and Finance) double degree have the opportunity to work in various areas of law, for example, as corporate lawyers, financial services advisory lawyers or dispute resolution/litigation lawyers in legal service organisations or public and private enterprises. Career development learning is scaffolded across all stages of the program.

Through students' studies, they will possess an understanding of the fundamental areas of legal knowledge, the Australian legal system and its underlying principles and concepts (including international and comparative contexts), the broad theoretical basis of the law and its social context, the principles and values of justice and ethical practice in a technology impacted, evolving legal system.

Students will also develop the knowledge and skills required in the financial management of public and private enterprises through a broad-based curriculum involving highly-focussed and in-depth theoretical and practical learning and professional training in economics and finance, combined with generalist business studies in statistics, accounting, marketing, management, and business IT.

This degree will prepare students to work in a globalised, international context as a professional in the cross section of legal and economics industries, including banking, stockbroking, funds management, insurance and superannuation industries and in other private sector or government organisations requiring high level, technical expertise in financial and economic analysis.
