Master of Science - International Business

Program Description The MSc International Business addresses employer's growing need for business and management graduates who can be responsible leaders and effective managers in a globalised and multicultural world.

The programme is ideal for graduates who are keen to develop a deep understanding of international business theory and practice, and to develop key competencies for a career in multinational companies or companies engaged in international business. The master's will provide students with a stimulating educational experience that promotes a global outlook – vital for today’s global business environment.

Informed by cutting-edge research, students will develop highly sought-after intercultural skills and a global mindset. This master's in International Business prepares students to work confidently and effectively with global partners and enhance organisational performance in today’s global economy.

Taught by world-class scholars and guest speakers from industry, students will develop a deep understanding of cross-cultural differences, intercultural communication and leadership, internationally distributed collaborations, international human resource management, and international strategic decision-making. Students will also develop actionable knowledge of the global business environment, international business negotiations, global sourcing models, international supply chains, global social entrepreneurship and digital innovations in global markets.

Through the opportunity of a study abroad option or an international virtual team exercise, students will have the chance to develop their own intercultural experience first-hand and to apply their newly acquired knowledge in real-life situations:

• Students can choose to spend the second semester at one of Loughborough University's international partner universities to experience a different cultural and educational environment, and thereby develop fundamental skills of cross-cultural adjustment and collaboration. • Alternatively, students have the option to take part in the ‘Working in International Teams’ optional module which is a large scale, international team project comprising thousands of students and professionals from over 40 countries. Together with students from four to six different countries, students will be working on a real-life business case for several months, experiencing the challenges and techniques of international collaborations across time zones and organisations.
