2-Semester Pathway - Pre-Master's Programme - Continue to Master of Science - Risk, Governance and International Management

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University.

This Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The PMP will allow them to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. They will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with them on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow them to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations.

Master of Science - Risk, Governance and International Management: The Master of Science - Risk, Governance and International Management programme will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the strategies used by multinational companies to manage risks arising from their environment. Through this risk management course, they will acquire the increasingly valuable knowledge and skills required to identify, evaluate and respond to risks facing multinational organisations operating in a rapidly changing global context. This course will prepare them for a valued career in a wide range of management situations including those requiring business awareness and an understanding of diverse political and environmental risks.
