Build a future with Conestoga's Construction Techniques - Carpentry certificate.
For a high school graduate who enjoys working with tools and wants to contribute to their community through a skilled trade, Conestoga's two-term Construction Techniques - Carpentry certificate is a launchpad into Ontario's booming construction industry.
This hands-on program teaches essential carpentry skills for interior and exterior construction and finishing in both residential and commercial settings.
The student will train with hand and power tools while working on real-world projects. The program also builds employment-ready knowledge in blueprint reading, job site safety, estimating and industry standards.
Graduates may qualify for an exemption from Level 1 in-school training for the 403A General Carpenter apprenticeship. They will also have the option to continue their education by entering directly into the second year of Conestoga's Carpentry and Renovation Technician diploma program.
What the student will learn:
• Interior and exterior carpentry techniques • Safe and effective use of hand and power tools • Blueprint reading and construction estimating • Job site safety and industry standards • Pathways to apprenticeship and advanced training
Career pathways: • Entry-level carpenter in residential or commercial construction • Apprentice in the 403A General Carpenter trade • Pathway to renovation work or further education in carpentry
