Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) - Mechanical Engineering - Aerospace (NEJ)

Program Description Students can begin their journey to an exciting career in mechanical engineering by developing a solid foundation in machine design, CAD, and thermofluids with applications in automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, and materials engineering. Available specializations include automotive, aerospace, environmental, and materials. The University of Windsor's facilities include a dedicated project courtyard where students develop their hands on capabilities.

Students will develop their aerospace skills as they learn about propulsion, aerodynamics, structures, materials, and drone technology. Students can consider taking advantage of the University of Windsor's unique opportunity to obtain their private pilot’s license for course credit or compete internationally with the university's aero or rocket teams.

Students will learn: • Designing, producing, and operating a wide variety of complex mechanical systems • Understanding and internalizing aerodynamics, heating and ventilation, and energy production • Planning effective, large-scale projects that manage resources and balance considerations including cost, quality, and speed • Analyzing complex problems and breaking them down into steps/component parts • Developing skills necessary to recognize the need for precision and detail in engineering design tasks • Writing, preparing, and presenting detailed technical reports, presentations, and resources to engage diverse audiences and communicate work
