Associate of Arts - Art History (Optional transfer)

The Art Major with an Emphasis in Art History is designed for students who wish to pursue the study of the visual arts in a social, political, philosophical, and cultural context as a foundation for understanding human history and creativity. The study of art history develops a greater sensitivity to art-related issues, the ability to think critically about art and history, and to appreciate the artistic expression of varied cultures and civilizations.

Optional Transfer

San Mateo - Cañada College is partnered with various universities and colleges to give interested applicants the opportunity to transfer to a four-year college or university after completing their associates degree or to transfer during their associates degree. Interested applicants should indicate their interest on the application form along with their intended partner university. San Mateo will provide students with the transfer requirements needed to guarantee a transfer. They still need to apply to the university during the regular period, which is usually one year in advance of the start date.
