University Pathways Fast Track at RMIT UP is an accelerated pathway designed for high-achieving international students, preparing them for university in half the time of a Foundation Studies course. Delivered over one semester by RMIT UP (CRICOS provider number: 01912G), a fully owned entity of RMIT University, the program equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future academic success.

Located in the heart of Melbourne, RMIT UP’s specialist staff support students throughout their journey, while providing opportunities to build global and social networks that contribute to success at RMIT and beyond.

University Pathways Fast Track features focused, discipline-based streams, allowing students to align their studies with their interests and goals. Available streams include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Art, Design and Architecture, Business, and Communication and Social Context.

Diploma - Nursing (C5417) (110709C) The RMIT Diploma of Nursing is designed to help students build knowledge and skills in a practical learning environment. Through on-campus simulation laboratories and industry placements, the program prepares graduates to support others in healthcare settings.

There continues to be strong demand for enrolled nurses, with positive job prospects in the field. In this nationally accredited diploma, students gain the skills to provide acute, curative, and rehabilitative care under the direction of a registered nurse.

Students learn to work with patients of all ages across a range of environments, with a focus on aged care, community care, acute care, and mental health. The program also covers administering intravenous medications and developing acute care capabilities, including medical and surgical nursing skills.

Throughout their studies, students engage with topics such as basic anatomy and physiology, wound management, analysing health information, infection control, medications and intravenous administration, caring for patients with acute and chronic conditions, nursing care for diabetes, implementing nursing care plans, evaluating care, and applying evidence-based practice.

The program includes a technology-enhanced learning experience through simulation laboratories and web-based simulations. Combined with a minimum of 400 hours of work placement, this ensures graduates are well prepared to enter the workforce.
