Что вы будете изучать

Это описание есть только на английском языке.

Program Description The Deakin College Foundation Program is equivalent to upper secondary school (Year 12) and university foundation programs. It aims to prepare students for further study in a Deakin College Diploma or for entry into the first year of a selected Deakin University bachelor degree.

The course consists of either a standard or extended track program. The standard track program consists of eight academic units: five core units and three elective units. The extended track program has an additional four units.

Various support services focusing on language, literacy and numeracy assistance are also available to help students in their studies. Each unit includes four hours of classes per week. Assessment for all units is continuous and includes tests, assignments and case study analysis. Most units have a final two-hour examination. To graduate from the Deakin College Foundation Program, students must complete and pass all eight units in the standard program or 12 units in the extended program.

The Diploma of Science is a direct pathway to second year of Deakin bachelor degrees in Science, Biomedical Science, Environmental Science (majors in Management and Sustainability, Wildlife and Conservation Biology), Forensic Science, Zoology and Animal Science.

Throughout the Bachelor of Environmental Science (Environmental Management and Sustainability) students will explore ways to manage the interaction between people and the environment. Combining the latest research with extensive application of skills in professional, community, lab and field settings, they will devise and implement innovative solutions to protect global natural resources.

Throughout this degree, students will learn about environmental processes within a range of environments, how societies use and value these environments, and the tools available to prevent and manage environmental impacts. They will consider sustainability from all angles – from resource efficiency and management to environmental policy – and workshop innovative ways to satisfy society’s needs for clean water, fresh air and healthy soil through sustainable use of natural resources.

With an emphasis on fieldwork and work-integrated learning, everything students learn in the classroom will be tried, tested and challenged in real life. Deakin University's passionate, industry-connected teachers break down leading-edge research into easy-to-understand concepts, so they can carry the theory they learn in the class into the field and into professional settings.
