Master of Science - International Professional Accounting (ACCA)

The MSc International Professional Accounting (ACCA) is a Level 7 Master’s degree designed to align closely with the Strategic Professional level of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification. The programme is professionally focused and aims to enhance graduates’ employability by combining academic study with preparation for industry-recognised examinations.

The course provides an opportunity for students to work towards a Master’s degree while preparing for the ACCA Strategic Professional exams. Although completion of the degree does not confer the ACCA qualification or exemptions from its essential Strategic Professional papers, the programme is structured to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in these external examinations.

The curriculum is aligned with the ACCA Strategic Professional syllabus. Students study all essential modules along with at least two optional modules required for the ACCA exams. In addition, the course includes a module on governance and ethics. During the summer term, students either complete an integrated strategic case study or undertake a professional placement.

An international perspective is embedded throughout the programme, with a focus on the application of global accounting and auditing standards across all modules.
