The international area studies major is for students who have interests that are both international and interdisciplinary and who wish to play a major role in forming their own curriculum. This course of study leads to a bachelor of arts in humanities with an international area studies focus.

Students in this program devise their own program of study in collaboration with the program coordinator and a designated advisor who is a specialist in the student's area of interest. There are four programs within the area studies: European, French/Francophone, Germanic, and Latin American.

Supplemental Pre-Professional tracks are available for students interested in pursuing further professional education.
