University Pathways Fast Track at RMIT UP is an accelerated pathway designed for high-achieving international students, preparing them for university in half the time of a Foundation Studies course. Delivered over one semester by RMIT UP (CRICOS provider number: 01912G), a fully owned entity of RMIT University, the program equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future academic success.

Located in the heart of Melbourne, RMIT UP’s specialist staff support students throughout their journey, while providing opportunities to build global and social networks that contribute to success at RMIT and beyond.

To ensure students get the best start to their studies, RMIT offers careers counselling, as well as academic and welfare support services that can be accessed flexibly.

University Pathways Fast Track features focused, discipline-based streams, allowing students to align their studies with their interests and goals. Available streams include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Art, Design and Architecture, Business, and Communication and Social Context.

Certificate IV - Laboratory Techniques (C4433) (112039J) The RMIT Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques equips students with the skills needed to become laboratory technicians in hospitals, research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, and private pathology and testing laboratories. Using industry-standard equipment, the program builds the knowledge and skills required to work under supervision in a range of laboratory settings.

Students learn to examine micro-organisms and changes in cells and tissues, perform analysis of biological and chemical samples, record and interpret data using laboratory software, prepare and test food materials, and carry out basic histological procedures on plant or animal tissue.

The program provides valuable hands-on experience, preparing graduates for roles in food and materials testing, diagnostic, or educational laboratories. Upon completion, students may also choose to pursue further study, such as the Diploma of Laboratory Technology.
