Sheridan College's Financial Technology (FinTech) graduate certificate program blends finance, data, and digital tools to innovate and improve payment processing, banking, security, investing, and other financial services. Whether a student's previous education is in finance, business, or computer programming, this program equips them with the unique set of skills needed to work in the growing FinTech industry. Future-focused Learning The program teaches more than how to use existing FinTech systems; it also prepares students to help build the systems of tomorrow. In the first semester, students learn the fundamentals of finance, technology, data science, AI, and regulations in the finance sector. They then build on that knowledge with in-depth courses in AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, blockchain, and other emerging technologies. Hands-on, Collaborative and Interdisciplinary Students gain hands-on experience using the latest tools and software through labs, case studies, group projects, and a final capstone project. Many of the problem-based learning exercises involve collaboration with industry partners and peers from other disciplines. The program also includes an optional co-op that can provide students with up to 360 hours of real-world experience. Flexible Learnings Sheridan's FinTech program is designed to support working professionals, career changers, and students who may live outside the Greater Toronto Area. The program is offered in a hybrid delivery mode.
