At Bishop’s University, students can pursue graduate studies by applying to either the Master of Education (M.Ed., course-based) or the Master of Arts in Educational Studies (M.A., thesis-based) program. Individuals may also enroll as General Interest graduate students to explore topics relevant to their professional interests and enhance their ongoing learning and development. These students have the option to apply for a degree program later and transfer applicable course credits.

Master of Education (M.Ed.) The Master of Education program is a non-thesis, course-based degree designed to provide students and professionals with the tools to deepen and enhance their educational practice. This 45-credit program supports administrators, educational leaders, teachers, and researchers in advancing their work within educational institutions, as well as in other organizational, professional, and community contexts.

The program explores the social, historical, cultural, and linguistic dimensions of education, while addressing issues of power, diversity, gender, and marginalization. Perspectives on education and leadership are grounded in a range of theoretical foundations, including sociological, historical, and linguistic approaches, as well as contemporary frameworks such as comparative and international education, post-colonial theory and theories of decolonization, applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, and critical theory.
