The International Incorporated Master in Energy and Sustainability is a one term or two term course that leads to a variety of postgraduate degree courses with The Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) at the University of Dundee. The CEPMLP is a highly respected graduate school specializing in international business transactions, natural resources, and energy law and policy.
International Energy Law and Policy course specifically focuses on electricity and gas, with the option to study hydrocarbon production. Students will explore topics such as energy regulation, the legal framework of electricity and gas industries, and the liberalization of energy markets.
Throughout the program, students will examine the challenges of energy transition, energy disputes and their resolution, and the impact of environmental standards across different countries.
Other areas of study include: • The integration of international and domestic electricity and gas markets • Regulatory oversight of energy markets and the role of government intervention • The relationship between long-term contracts and short-term markets • Risk allocation between producers/generators and suppliers • Financing energy projects • Government-private investor dynamics in providing energy services • Cost pass-through mechanisms and subsidy imposition.
