Manufacturing engineering generally deals with different practices of manufacturing, the research and development of tools, processes, machines and equipment. It also includes the integration of different facilities and the systems for producing quality products with the application of physics and the study of manufacturing systems.
The bachelor of science degree with a major in manufacturing engineering is designed to provide students with the mathematics, science, management, engineering and applications skills needed to become manufacturing engineers. The four-year curriculum at Texas State includes courses in the following areas: - Science, math and engineering science - Engineering materials, product design, tools & processes, automation & systems design - Humanities and social sciences
Texas State offers a manufacturing engineering program with two specializations: - General manufacturing - Mechanical systems manufacturing
The Manufacturing Engineering (B.S.) program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and Program Criteria for Manufacturing and Similarly Named Engineering Programs.
Please note: While a specialization is not available in the portal at the time of application, the student must choose from the following specializations: General Manufacturing, Mechanical Systems
