Students who complete the Associate in Science in Administration of Justice for Transfer will be prepared for a Criminal Justice Studies or similar major in the CSU system. Through the required and elective courses, students will develop an understanding of the criminal justice system (including crime, law enforcement, courts, and corrections); acquire analytical skills in law and social science; and gain tools for understanding crime and punishment in the U.S. today. Administration of Justice curriculum will also prepare students for a broad range of employment opportunities in law, policing, court procedures, corrections, and social work.

Student Learning Outcomes: • Examine the role of the criminal justice system within the United States. • Examine the workings of the criminal justice system by applying key definitions, concepts, and principles to law enforcement, courts, and correctional settings. • Discuss the sources and the historical development of criminal law and identify the structure of statutes and codes, legislative bills and referenda.
