2.5-Term Pre-Master's for Business, Law and Social Sciences - Continue to Master of Arts - Diplomacy and Foreign Policy

Program Description For students who hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but don’t meet the entry requirements for a master’s, a Pre-Master’s can help them gain a place on a postgraduate degree. For progression to the 1st year of a postgraduate degree at City, University of London. The course length is determined mainly by English language level (UKVI IELTS score).

Students on all course lengths take a set of common or similar modules to gain a solid base of skills for university. If the course is longer than 2 terms, students will take additional modules designed to improve one or more of their English language level, academic skills, and basic knowledge of particular subjects.

Master of Arts - Diplomacy and Foreign Policy

In this Diplomacy and Foreign Policy MA, students will develop their analytical capacities and their ability to examine and critically evaluate the role of foreign policy, diplomacy and decision-making in relation to complex issues such as:

-the capacity of states to meet their economic and political foreign policy goals -the role of foreign policy and diplomacy in global conflict -the relationship between human rights, foreign policy, and diplomacy -the evolution of international organisations as diplomatic and foreign policy forums.

Students will explore the significance of risk and change in contemporary foreign policy and diplomacy, and develop their ability to critically evaluate foreign policy tools and diplomacy in the contemporary world.
