The International Incorporated Master in Engineering helps students learn the theoretical and practical framework for engineering modeling and develop research methods to tackle engineering problems at the postgraduate level. Upon completion, students will progress to The School of Science and Engineering, which has a long and successful international reputation for excellent teaching and topical research.

Students will develop their skills, knowledge, and understanding in various engineering topics, such as geotechnical engineering and sustainability, as well as important topics like health and safety and environmental management.

Under the guidance of academic staff, students will undertake a research project linked to current industry needs. Recent project examples include sustainability and durability of concrete, hydrodynamics of wave energy structures, computational analysis of fluid flows, and data-driven analysis of beach stability.

The school also offers excellent laboratory facilities, including the Scottish Marine and Renewables Test Centre for Concrete and Geotechnics, and a 3m radius geotechnical centrifuge, one of only three in Europe capable of earthquake replication.
