Applied Clinical Research and Public Health is a specialised research area within the Dentistry postgraduate research programmes (PhD), offering students the opportunity to engage in advanced research supported by strong academic expertise and a collaborative environment. The programme focuses on a range of topics related to dental health and public health, including epidemiology, clinical effectiveness, dental surveys, orthodontics, endodontics, and clinical trials, as well as broader areas such as violence and its impact on society.
Students participate in established research programmes that address both clinical and population-level health issues, gaining experience in applied research methods and evidence-based practice. The programme adopts an integrated approach, combining basic science with health services research to better understand and improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
