Master of Speech Pathology (H765) (120131B)

Master of Speech Pathology at Deakin University, delivered at the Geelong Waterfront campus, prepares graduates to work in partnership with individuals experiencing communication or swallowing difficulties, as well as their carers, families and communities. The program emphasises collaborative practice aimed at helping people achieve their goals and reducing the inequalities they face.

Students develop the knowledge, skills and practical experience needed to confidently support individuals of all ages with developmental or acquired speech, language or communication disorders, complex communication needs, hearing impairments or swallowing difficulties resulting from age, impairment or disability.

Co-designed with people with disability, alongside parents, carers and advocates, and informed by local service providers, the program offers a unique focus on understanding and working with people with disability. This approach provides graduates with in-demand specialised perspectives and practical skills, equipping them to make meaningful contributions to the speech pathology profession and setting them apart in the workforce.
