Bachelor’s degree in communication disorders for students interested in pursuing graduate studies in speech language pathology or audiology. Students have the option to earn either a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree. The main distinction between the two degrees is the foreign language requirement for the BA degree.

The undergraduate curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in general education, human behavior, and communication sciences and disorders. The course sequence includes classes necessary to fulfill University Studies requirements, as well as Communication Disorders Program requirements. While a minor is not mandatory for students majoring in CDI, they are encouraged to use elective courses to explore areas of interest that complement their studies in human communicative behavior. It is recommended that students consult with their advisor when selecting elective courses. Additionally, students should be aware that admission to speech-language pathology programs nationwide is highly competitive. Any academic concerns should be promptly addressed with the student’s advisor.
