The MSc Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of West London equips students with the essential knowledge, practical tools and professional insight for further study or careers in healthcare, clinical psychology or health psychology.
The course offers a strong foundation in psychological theory, applied skills and professional insight. Students will explore key themes in mental and physical health, wellbeing and behaviour, preparing them for further training or careers in a range of clinical and health contexts.
This MSc incorporates content aligned with BPS guidance for clinical and health psychology training, providing a foundation for future careers. Students will study biopsychosocial concepts in health, ethical, legal and professional practice issues, applied research and analysis skills, perspectives and theories of mental health, and clinical assessment and treatment approaches.
Research is central to the course, with applied research modules enabling students to develop their skills and address real-world questions in clinical and health psychology.
Students will also complete an independent dissertation project, designing and conducting their own study under academic supervision, providing an opportunity to contribute to the field and support future career development as researchers or practitioners.
