Это описание есть только на английском языке.
The course combines strategic, technical, and professional skills aligned with current and emerging industry needs, including cyber security, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data-driven decision-making, and digital transformation.
Students develop a strong foundation in IT strategy and leadership, enabling them to align technology with organisational goals and manage complex digital change. Core technical modules provide both practical and theoretical knowledge in cyber security, cloud computing, responsible AI, and big data business intelligence. A substantial master’s project allows students to apply their learning to a real-world or research-led problem.
The MSc Information Technology (with Advanced Practice) is open to students with or without an academic background in computing.
For those new to the subject, the course offers structured support to build knowledge progressively. Core modules introduce fundamental principles in computing, digital systems, and information technologies before advancing to more complex and applied topics. This approach helps students develop a strong technical foundation and the analytical skills required for postgraduate study and careers in IT.
A substantial master’s project enables students to apply their learning in practice, while the Advanced Practice module enhances employability through either a vocational or research-based internship experience. This combination ensures that graduates leave with both advanced technical expertise and the professional competencies sought by global employers.
A vocational internship provides valuable work experience and can strengthen a student’s CV, while a research internship offers the opportunity to develop analytical, teamwork, and academic skills within a research environment. A research internship is guaranteed; however, a vocational internship cannot be guaranteed. Students who wish to pursue a vocational placement are supported with practical advice and guidance to help them secure a suitable opportunity.
For students with a prior degree in computing or a related field, the course revisits key concepts before progressing to more advanced and industry-focused topics. This enables them to deepen their expertise, expand their technical capabilities, and critically engage with emerging technologies and strategic digital challenges.
Overall, the course ensures that all students develop the knowledge and skills expected at master’s level, while receiving an appropriate balance of support and challenge throughout their studies.
