Bachelor of Science - Environmental Science

Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary program that draws on the fields of biology, chemistry, and geology to offer science-based insight into how to become better stewards of the environment. This four-year degree offers students experiential learning opportunities in Manitoba’s diverse aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. A major in Environmental Science is ideal for those who are passionate about practical involvement in protecting, managing, and sustaining the natural world.

Given Providence’s unique rural situation next to the Rat River, this program will include a strong field component where students are trained using a variety of methods and tools, both in and outside the classroom (e.g. establishing a long-term local data set). Since the demand for environmental scientists is extremely high, those pursuing an Environmental Science degree will be well-prepared for a variety of internship positions and careers in the environmental sector.
