What you will study

Program Description

Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Screenwriting and Producing offers applicants the opportunity to explore a much wider range of screen skills, both technical and creative. Students will be able to place your screenwriting in a professional context through gaining a solid grounding in production and filmmaking skills.

The Screenwriting and Producing course, therefore, is for screenwriters who wish to look beyond the page and gain an understanding and first-hand experience of filmmaking.

Specifically, the course will offer students:

• A critical understanding and knowledge of filmmaking from first idea through development and to production, post-production, and exhibition. • An understanding of the context in which film, television, and digital media have developed over the last century. • A critical understanding of the cultural context of all forms of screen media. • An ability to demonstrate an effective understanding of the relationship between storyteller and audience.
